Serving Millcreek and Salt Lake County
Millcreek is still building out its city center. Phase II of Millcreek Common, the town square that includes the new City Hall on Chambers Avenue, broke ground on May 13, 2025 with a 19-hole mini golf course, Splash Creek, Skate Canyon and the Milo the Moose play area, and a council member’s column in the city’s October 2026 newsletter says it opens next spring. In September 2026 the city also started adding curb, gutter and sidewalk on the south side of Scott Avenue between 700 East and 900 East. Building or remodeling in Millcreek this winter? Where loads go
Millcreek is served by the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District, and the city sends residents to the district for its area cleanup program and trailer requests. The Salt Lake Valley Landfill, one of the two landfills the district’s vouchers cover, lists construction debris, lumber, roofing shingles, concrete, asphalt and dirt among the loads it takes. Salt Lake County loads go to facilities including Salt Lake County Landfill, Trans-Jordan, Ace Intermountain, Construction Waste Management.
On the street
Millcreek requires a Dumpster/Moving Pod Encroachment Permit, applied for through the city’s Public Works permit portal, and says Public Works permits take 14 business days to issue. Dumpsters and moving pods go in the driveway and cannot block the sidewalk, and from November through April they cannot be placed on the road or public right-of-way at all.
